School Climate Survey

Dear Catholic Friends,

Catholic Parents OnLine has been approached by a growing number of parents and alumni concerned about the recent actions taken by one of our Archdiocesan Catholic high schools. It seems that they are conducting "forum series" for students and faculty held for the purpose of discussing the issue of homosexuality and also gave the students a "School Climate Survey". Click the link below to see the survey...

School Climate Survey

First it was the insidious "Safe Staff" training to create a “safe” climate for young people who are “exploring” their “sexual identities.” These “sexual identities” include gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT).

Beware parents! Homosexual activism is very much alive and well in the Twin Cities. Tragically, they have infiltrated a few of our fine Catholic high schools with their agenda, to promote, celebrate and advocate the homosexual lifestyle which is totally contrary to the Gospel and Catholic Church teaching.

The "School Climate Survey" now being distributed, actually originated from "GLSEN" ("Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network"). If you examine the contents of the "GLSEN" Website you will discover their strategy on creating "Gay Straight Alliance" groups in schools and much more! (Incidentally one of our Catholic high schools has not only a "GSA" --"Gay Straight Alliance" group, but also a group called "GLOBE" --"Gay, Lesbian, or Bisexual Etc.")

There is an excellent and truthful article on the "NARTH" (National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality) Website - "A Captive Audience" - included in the article is the following paragraph:

Other examples of GSA activism come from GLSEN's how-to manual on "jump starting" GSA’s (Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network, 2001c), 20 ways GSAs can "rock the world" (Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network, 2001b), and tips for recruiting new members (Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network, 2001a). These documents provide students ideas for advocacy within schools, including organizing, performing a "school climate" survey, and creating an action plan. Students are given advertising and promotional tips and instructed on how to queer the curriculum and organize large school events, such as marches and movie nights. You can see the entire article at: www.narth.com/docs/captive.html

Parents are the primary educators of their children, and they were not even informed of these actions taken at this school. This is a serious matter that should not be taken lightly.

Be sure to check and ask questions at your Catholic school!

Thank you and God bless!
